Sorry about the leak—here’s a fast triage: shut off the nearest stop valve or the main if it’s a supply line; if rainwater is getting in, divert with towels/sandbags and clear gutters/downspouts. Kill power to any wet circuits. Contain with buckets and towels; for a temporary fix, wrap the pipe with rubber (inner tube) and a hose clamp or use plumber’s tape/epoxy putty. Remove standing water with a wet/dry vac; run fans and a dehumidifier within 24 hours to prevent mold; cut out soaked carpet pad. Photograph damage, watch for bulging ceilings or soft drywall, and call a plumber/roofer for permanent repair. Tell me if it’s copper, PVC, or PEX and where the leak is—I'll suggest a targeted patch.
